Startup Award 2020
Rehago is Startup Leader 2020

Rehago is the winner of the Diplomatic Council Startup Leadership Award 2020. This startup has found a way to employ virtual reality to help partially paralysed patients to manage their daily life after e.g. a stroke. The training in rehabilitation is often demotivating and boring - especially when it is done alone and at home. Therapists suffer from a constant lack of time and patients are often undersupplied. Rehago is a VR application for independent training that can support the rehabilitation process.

Rehago’s vision is that patients train playfully and with joy. The exercises are designed based on neuropsychological findings so they support the motivation of the patient optimally. Various studies have proven that the use of virtual reality in a therapy encourages the patients to train more often which leads to a better and faster healing.

“We have received many outstanding applications”, says Aman Khan, Diplomatic Council Startup Advisor und Chairman of the Jury. He explains: “Rehago has combined modern technology and social thinking; this has convinced us”. Further members of the jury were Dr. Bernd Ruppert, Chairman of Business Angels Berlin-Brandenburg and Andreas Lukic, Chairman Business Angels Frankfurt / Rhein-Main.

Further to Rehago, the jury has nominated Algoliner und SDG.17 Consulting amongst the TOP 3 ranking. Algoliner has developed a new innovative and patented method to produce photobioreactors for the creation of algal biomass. SDG.17 is a consultancy agency for companies that wish to act according to the 17 social development goals of the United Nations.
