The Value of Values
We are launching a very special project: a book on “the value of values”. In our modern age, values seem to be losing their worth – triviality, arbitrariness and fakery in all its forms are on the rise. As the Diplomatic Council community, we want to counter this trend with a book that shows just how much values matter today. It will be written jointly by all members who wish to take part. Everyone who joins in contributes keywords, thoughts, statements or even a full-length piece (PDF upload). Drawing on this input, our editorial team will craft a single book that weaves everyone’s ideas together in fluent prose and makes for a genuinely compelling read. Before publication, every contributor will have the chance to review and revise the text. Everyone who takes part will be credited as a co-author, both in the book and in its marketing. There are plenty of books out there, but a timely one on the value of values, written by a community of brilliant minds such as the Diplomatic Council, is truly one of a kind. So do join in – we would love you to be part of it!
Book launch on 5 February 2027 in Frankfurt
“The Value of Values” will be presented at the DC New Year’s Reception under the motto “The AI Society – Artificial Intelligence and Human Values”: Friday, 5 February 2027, 6 pm to 10 pm, Villa Bonn, Siesmayerstraße 12, Frankfurt am Main. Everyone who contributes should register now so they can be there when their own book is presented.
The book will be published in full in both English and German – you are welcome to contribute in either language.
Editorial deadline: contributions can be submitted, added to or amended until 15 November 2026.
