Silicon Valley Europe joins the Diplomatic Council

The Silicon Valley Europe initiative has joined the Diplomatic Council as a new member. At the same time, a comprehensive cooperation between the European IT cluster and the Diplomatic Council was agreed.

Silicon Valley Europe, which was launched at the beginning of 2024, is a significant step for Europe towards strengthening the IT sector across borders. The initiative will make it easier for companies in the information technology sector from all European countries to make contact, work together more universally and continue to grow together

The aim of Silicon Valley Europe is to sustainably promote the strengths and potential of the European IT industry. By bringing together software, system and technology providers of different sizes and specializations and providing a wide range of services and resources, the network aims to secure and increase their competitiveness on a global scale.

The cooperation gives members of the Diplomatic Council with an IT focus the opportunity to participate in selected Silicon Valley Europe events and other measures. Conversely, the companies involved in the IT cluster can take part in suitable DC events.

With this step, the Diplomatic Council is strengthening its footprint in the IT sector and thus also in the field of artificial intelligence.  Last fall, DC Verlag published a standard work on the subject with the book "Artificial Intelligence for Decision-Making" with a top-class international team of authors. The authors include AI pioneer Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Sebastian Thrun. The German, who emigrated to Silicon Valley in the USA, held the first AI chair at Stanford University (his students included Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAl) and, as Vice President at Google, he laid the foundations for AI development together with Larry Page. The foreword was written by Matthias Hohensee, Bureau Chief Silicon Valley at WirtschaftsWoche for over 25 years.
