Advantages of Green Methanol 

The advantages of green methanol: production is climate-positive (more CO2 is removed from the atmosphere than is emitted during use), the global South gains a unique economic perspective on the path to prosperity and peace, all conventional transportation routes and uses for fossil fuel can continue to be used (just with methanol as a substitute), Methanol is less dangerous than hydrogen (risk of explosion) and much easier to handle (methanol is liquid at normal temperature, while hydrogen only becomes liquid under extreme cooling), the costs of the methanol economy are far below fossil fuels, below a possible hydrogen economy and below nuclear power, provided the production takes place in the earth's sun belt, where solar energy is abundantly available.

No national Borders for Science

Hence, it is crucial that we maintain a global collaboration in science across all controversies, conflicts, and wars. As significant as today’s global disputes may seem, and there are indeed too many, they are trivial in the grand scale of human development. We, as scientists, are called upon to join hands across national boundaries and advance step by step, continually acquiring new and more comprehensive knowledge about our universe. This effort will lay the foundation for a better future for all people. Just as the universe knows no national borders, scientific progress should not be halted by them.
