Dato' Steve Cheah, social entrepreneur and advisor, has been appointed as Head of Diplomatic Council Mission to CLMTV countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam).The new mission has been established with the helping hands of Irene Ho, Head of DC Asia, Ambassador Nongnuth Phetcharatana (Thailand), Ambassador Dato’ Zulkifli Adnan (Malaysia) and last but not least Ambassador Dato’ Jojie Samuel, who has joined the Diplomatic Council Board of Presidents.
He established the Pitch@school entrepreneurship education for schools and Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Thailand not-for-profit initiative, working in collaboration with private sectors, government ministries, and agencies to support entrepreneurship education, the creative economy, and the development of SMEs and Startups with the mission to build One Global Entrepreneurial Ecosystem for deeper cross border collaboration and initiatives between entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, policymakers and community leaders.
He co-hosted several international conferences, activities, and competitions to the region with GEN@Startup Thailand, Global Entrepreneurship Congress + (GEC+) Bangkok, GEN Asia conference Bangkok, Creative Business Cup (CBC) competitions, Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC), Pitch@Palace ASEAN, and others, with the aim to create opportunities to connect and “internationalize” startups and SMEs in Thailand and ASEAN. Diplomatic Council and GEN are planning joint activities for the mutual benefit of all members.
Dato' Steve Cheah has a demonstrated history in international trade and Business Development. A strategic thinker and a professional graduate, he also holds several advisory roles to business chambers, education institutions, and leading corporations.
