WHO has launched a dedicated messaging services in Arabic, English, French, Hindi, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese with partners WhatsApp and Facebook to keep people safe from coronavirus. This easy-to-use messaging service has the potential to reach 2 billion people and enables WHO to get information directly into the hands of the people that need it.

WHO: Testing, tracing, and when to lift restrictions

The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), outlined his agency’s latest advice to countries on Monday in a statement, stressing that a mix of social distancing, testing, contact tracing and isolation, will be crucial to further curb the spread of the new coronavirus already devastating much of the globe. 

“We’re all learning all the time and adjusting our strategy, based on the latest available evidence”, said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, summarizing the guidance of the World Health Organization.

Diplomatic Council joins PEPP-PT to fight Covid-19

The Diplomatic Council has joined the Pan-European Privacy-Preserving Proximity Tracing initiative PEPP-PT. Other members of this project to fight Covid-19 include arago, Fraunhofer, Vodafone and the Universities of Berlin, Dresden, Linz and Munich as well as the Robert Koch Institut.

Millions of Corona rapid test kits available

Members of the Diplomatic Council are in a position to deliver corona rapid tests on antibody basis short-term and in large numbers. The rapid tests offered here are designed for medical professionals, means they are intended for hospitals and doctors' practices.

Currently, there is low availability of corona rapid tests which presents a big burden to the health authorities. In the meantime, Corona rapid tests on antibody basis do have a high rate of detection.

FDA Masks Regulations

The FDA regulates surgical masks and surgical N95 respirators differently based on their intended use.

A surgical mask is a loose-fitting, disposable device that creates a physical barrier between the mouth and nose of the wearer and potential contaminants in the immediate environment. These are often referred to as face masks, although not all face masks are regulated as surgical masks. Note that the edges of the mask are not designed to form a seal around the nose and mouth.

We are at war with an enemy, invisible yet extremely dangerous and it has already claimed thousands of victims around the world. The virus is destroying global economies and livelihoods leaving millions and millions of people without jobs and income.

It has taken away a grandmother, a grandfather, a mother, a father and in some cases a son or a daughter. Those who do not mourn a person, are separated from their beloved ones for an indefinite time.
