The Value of Values: DC members write a book together

In our modern age, values seem to be losing their worth, as triviality, arbitrariness and fakery of every kind gain ground. The Diplomatic Council is answering this with a book, written by DC members themselves.

Diplomatic Council Publishing is preparing “The Value of Values”, a book shaped by every member who wishes to take part. Contributors can share keywords, thoughts, a short statement or a longer piece, also as a PDF if they prefer. Our editorial team will weave these voices into a single, highly readable book. Every contributor will be able to review the text before publication and will be credited as a co-author, both in the book and in its promotion.

The project was initiated by Claude Piel.

The book will be published in full in both English and German, so you are welcome to contribute in either language.

Contribute by 15 November 2026

Contributions are submitted via a personal access link and can be added to or amended at any time until the editorial deadline of 15 November 2026. Anyone who has mislaid their link can request a new one on the project page. Participation is open to DC members only.

Book launch at the DC New Year’s Reception

The book will be launched at the DC New Year’s Reception, held under the motto “The AI Society – Artificial Intelligence and Human Values”, on Friday, 5 February 2027, from 6 pm to 10 pm at Villa Bonn in Frankfurt am Main. All co-authors are warmly invited to be there when their book is presented.
