Startup Leadership Award 2020

The Diplomatic Council Think Tank has launched its first Startup Award 2020 called Start-up Leadership Award.The competition is open to all start-ups. The Winners will be announced at Diplomatic Council 2020 Gala Event on February 7, 2020 in Frankfurt/Germany where the winners will receive their Awards.

New Global Logistics Hub

The new Diplomatic Council ZEC has been formed as a logistics hub with the objective to connect Asia, Europe and the United States of America.  The headquarter may seem unusual at first: the Canary Islands. However, the Canary Archipelago belongs to Spain and has the status as a special economic zone of the European Union enjoying remarkable tax and customs advantages. Diplomatic Council corporate members specialized in the import and export business are welcome to benefit from these advantages.

Lucien Tjon named Nanjing Chairman for The Netherlands

The Nanjing Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce of China‘s former capital Nanjing have appointed Diplomatic Council Chairman International Relations Lucien Tjon as their Chairman for The Netherlands. Congratulations!

Nanjing is the capital of Jiangsu province and the second largest city in the East China region. The Nanjing Metropolitan Region includes surrounding cities and areas, covering over 60,000 km2 (23,000 sq mi), with a population of over 30 million.

DCS starts charity project in UK

The Diplomatic Council Students Organisation (DCS) has started a new appeal for donation in Great Britain. 

With the beginning of the Master Program 2020, the student’s football league in London has commenced. The first match took place on October 19, 2019 and this opportunity was seized by the students of the Hult University in joint forces with Fabian Jaskota, Head of the Diplomatic Council Students Organisation, in order to raise funds for a charity project.

Startup Curriculum

The Diplomatic Council has created a curriculum for would-be entrepreneurs in connection with its Startup Program lead by Diplomatic Council Startup Advisor Aman Khan. The curriculum is made up of eight workshop modules in total which must be accomplished. The modules include:

Diplomatic Council members are invited to join the "Entrepreneurship of China-World Overseas Business and Economic Cooperation" Conference which will be held by The Returned Overseas Chinese Association of Nanjing in Jiangsu Province, in China during 3 days from November 19th till 21st 2019.

The Diplomatic Council has appointed Luciën Tjon as Chairman International Relations. He has more than 20 years of experience in international investment and trade consulting. Over the course of his career, Luciën Tjon has established friendly long-term relationships not only with government officials but also has developed international business connections with global organizations and companies from various countries.

Andreas Dripke is keynote speaker at the World Internet of Things Convention in China

The World Internet of Things Convention (WIOTC) has invited Diplomatic Council Executive Chairman Andreas Dripke as a keynote speaker for the opening ceremony of its convention in Beijing, China. WIOTC is one of the largest organisations for the Internet of Things. At the 2019 WIOTC, which will take place on November 8 and 9, over 3,000 participants and more than 1,000 journalists from all over the word are expected to attend. This year, the Diplomatic Council is co-hosting the World Internet of Things Convention for the first time.

Reflections on Hong Kong in the media

Since June this year, various international and local media have been following the demonstrations in Hong Kong. Within a few months, the demonstrations turned from peaceful protests into violent clashes with the forces of law and order. Groups within the protesters used toxic liquids and weapons. They destroyed public facilities and part of Hong Kong's infrastructure. As violence escalated rapidly from day to day, most media unilaterally took sides with the agitated demonstrators and against the law enforcement forces who tried to maintain public order.
