DC erhält Observer Status für UN CCPCJ

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has granted the Diplomatic Council observer status at the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ). This is the highest status that a civil society organization such as the Diplomatic Council can have with a UN commission. The observer status means that the DC members sent as delegates to the commission meetings have the opportunity to follow and influence the work of the respective commission in non-public sessions.

Historic start for DC Quantum Leap

March 19, 2024 was a historic day for almost all participants at the launch event of the Diplomatic Council Quantum Leap initiative: for the first time in their lives, they were able to take a live look at a quantum chip - clearly visible under a microscope. There were also excellent presentations by Harald A. Summa Chairman of the new initiative, and Matthias Reidans, a luminary in the field of quantum technology from Rosenberger-OSI.

The 28 greatest risks to humanity

As part of its UN Consultative Status, the Diplomatic Council is contributing to a new Global Risk Report of the United Nations. The study comprises 28 global risks, which were selected and assessed as part of a comprehensive consultation process between the international community, civil society organizations such as the Diplomatic Council and other stakeholders.

On March 8th, 2024, The Diplomatic Council, in collaboration with the Diplomatic Corps of Thailand, proudly presented Thailand's Inaugural Ambassadors' Ball, a prestigious event held at the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok. New DC Mission Netherlands

The Diplomatic Council has established a new DC Mission in the Netherlands. Rob Heijtink has been appointed Head of Mission. He is probably already known to many members through his work as Chairman of the DC Global E-Mobility Forum.

Rob Heijtink has been actively involved in the Diplomatic Council for well over ten years. He was one of the earliest members to join the think tank, which was founded in 2012 in the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands.

Spring festival with India on April 22

This year's partner country of the Diplomatic Council Spring Festival is India, the world's largest democracy. The Indian Consul General B.S. Mubarak will present his country on April 22 in Frankfurt/Germany, discuss current developments and answer questions. And because the traditional mango festival is celebrated in India every year, the Diplomatic Council is celebrating a combined spring and manifesto this year. Members and guests are welcome!

New DC Mission South/East Africa

The Diplomatic Council has expanded its global reach with a new mission for South and East Africa. Felix Zuckschwerdt, who is based in Mauritius, has been appointed Head of Mission. He is a recognised expert in the field of transformation projects in the technology and energy sector.
