A report from the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development 2023

Scientific research increasingly takes place among global teams of researchers, creating networks that extend beyond national institutions and single disciplines (Wagner et al., 2015; UNCTAD, 2018). The growing technological complexity, the fast pace of technological change and the massive transformation brought by recent waves of innovation require a collaborative approach to Science, Technology and Innovation (STI).

From climate change to singularity

The UNCTAD’s Technology and Innovation Report 2023 examines 17 frontier technologies, defined as new and rapidly developing technologies that take advantage of digitalization and connectivity, which are divided into three broad categories:

(i) Industry 4.0 frontier technologies which include artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), big data, blockchain, 5G, 3D printing, robotics and drone technology,

DC Chairman Harald A. Summa aims for the pinnacle of computer performance with Quantum Leap

North American entrepreneur Bianca Schaefer has been appointed by the Diplomatic Council (DC) as the new Head of Mission Canada. In this function she is responsible for the recruitment and support of DC members in Canada. Also part of her job is to support DC member companies from all over the world with inquiries about the Canadian market and with finding contacts in Canada. We can also expect more participants from North America at international online events in the future.

The 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly marks a crucial milestone in the journey towards achieving the 2030 Agenda and the urgent need to put the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) back on track.

The Diplomatic Council belongs to the exclusive circle of partners of the Starnberger See Talks, which are organized by DC educational member Steinbeis Augsburg Business School.
