On 25th June 2022, the Diplomatic Council and Kosovo Embassy in Bangkok jointly conducted a Roudtable with H.E. Dr Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, the president of the Republic of Kosovo on her first official visit to Thailand.
The event was attended by the Chairman of Thai Chamber of Commerce, K. Sanan Angubolkul and his board members, represetatives from the private sector as well as public sectors attendees that included Dr. Pun-Arj Chairatana, executive director of NIA, Dr. Kasititorn Pooparadai, Sr. Exe VP of DEPA, the Ministry of foreign affairs & others.

A large-scale war was looming, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko warned towards the end of 2018. A few weeks earlier – on 26 November 2018 – he had imposed martial law on Ukraine in response to a massive concentration of Russian troops along the border between the two countries. While the EU made initial statements about possible new sanctions against Russia, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko explicitly warned the West against this approach. At the beginning of 2022, the situation was not much different, certainly not more peaceful.

In all three countries – Afghanistan, Syria and Ukraine – doom has set in due to the clash of geopolitical power blocs. And in all three countries, proxy wars have led the population to disaster. Therefore, in a book about the failure of the West in Afghanistan, Syria and Ukraine, the decades-long failure of the international community of states far beyond these three countries in all attempts to bring peace to the world deserves mention at the very beginning.

This year the „European Chemistry Partnering“ (ECP) online event focusses on connecting startups and young entrepreneurs with well-know industry leaders. It is organized by Diplomatic Council Chairman Holger Bengs. The digital format will focus on partnering across all time zones from Feb. 16, 08:00 CET to Feb. 18, 23:59 CET.
For three days, contacts can be made in a compact and concentrated manner in the proven partnering, cooperations can be initiated and the major content-related challenges of the future can be discussed, with an accompanying program.

Diplomatic Council CLMTV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam) held its 3rd "Diplomacy meets Business" dialogue with ambassadors & business leaders on 7th Dec. 2021 in Bangkok. We were honoured to have a number of ambassadors and business leaders participate in the event.
The guest speakers were H.E. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, the Former Thai Minister of sports & Tourism and chairperson of Toshiba Thailand, and Mr David Lyman, chairman of Tilleke Gibbins & founder of the Joint Foreign Chamber of Commerce (JFCCT).

The Diplomatic Council will hold an informal dialogue on “Diplomacy meets Business” on 7th December 2021 (2 - 4 PM Bangkok time) and cordially invites selected Ambassadors and business leader to the conversation. They will share their experience on cross-border business and their views on what foreign embassies and ambassadors can do to facilitate and help smooth out many of the challenges of doing business in another country.
