Thank you for the opportunity to speak to you today about a topic of immense importance: Europe’s security and the emerging new global order.

Excellencies, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for having me in this event.
As part of its global cooperation with international educational and research institutions as well as think tanks, the Diplomatic Council has formalised a strategic partnership with ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon. Founded in 1977, ISCTE is one of Portugal’s leading public research universities, specialising in social sciences, economics, management, and technology. The ISCTE Business School, accredited by both AACSB and AMBA, is recognised as Portugal’s foremost training ground for C-level executives and ranks among the world’s leading business schools.
We are proud to announce the opening of the new Diplomatic Council Chapter Berlin. Ambassador Prof. Dr. Heinrich Kreft (Amb. ret), acting president of the Diplomatic Council, personally takes charge of the new presence in German's capital. He brings with him a global network of contacts that will benefit all members of the Diplomatic Council (DC). The founding charter of the new chapter was signed by him together with Diplomatic Council Secretary General Hang Nguyen.
Quantum technology is no longer confined to physics laboratories. It has become a strategic issue for business leaders, governments, and society at large. With the declaration of 2025 as the “Year of Quantum Technology” by the United Nations, this emerging field is gaining global attention as a driver of innovation and a potential disruptor of existing systems.
Donald Trump’s recent attacks on Elon Musk and SpaceX threaten to severely setback U.S. space exploration. The US President has publicly threatened to terminate all NASA contracts with SpaceX, a move that would jeopardize rocket launches, satellite missions, and the economic future of American space travel.

Allow me first to thank the Diplomatic Council for organizing this remarkable event. Thank you, Hang and Andreas. And thank you all. It is a pleasure to be among you, to be among so many committed professionals. And I am particularly grateful for this opportunity to shed light on the diplomatic and geopolitical agenda that France is carrying forward with ambition, realism, and I believe renewed clarity.
